Ordinary locals. Extraordinary work.

If you live in or around Cobbity and want to help protect your neighbours, there's a place for you here. You don't need experience, just the willingness to learn and turn up.

Getting started

Start with the official NSW RFS join page.

That page covers eligibility, roles, and what happens after you apply. If you have questions about Cobbity specifically, send us a message and we'll help where we can.

Not every role is on the fireground.

Volunteering with the NSW Rural Fire Service means training with locals, serving your community, and being part of a crew that looks after each other as much as the community.

01

Field firefighter

Respond to bushfires, structure fires, and incidents with the crew. Training and PPE are provided.

02

Support roles

Logistics, communications, catering, and station work keep every callout running smoothly.

03

Community education

Help neighbours get fire-ready through talks, school visits, and local events.
